California Berry Cultivars, LLC is announcing the commercial release of two new cultivars:
The first cultivar, previously known as CBC024, is a day-neutral cultivar with exceptional fruit quality and high yields like Alturas. The first peak can be earlier than Alturas, making CBC024 a natural complement to Alturas in both Santa Maria and Watsonville, CA. Both are resistant to Fusarium.
The second cultivar, previously known as CBC008, is our first organic day-neutral release. This variety is packed with disease resistance, we have yet to kill it in any disease trial. It is highly resistant to Macrophomina, Fusarium, Verticillium, and Phytophthora, with moderate resistance to Colletotrichum and Xanthomonas. Yields are good, especially in organic fertilizer treatments, and fruit quality and flavor are excellent.
